    Position Description:

    In this position, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting assignments focused on residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) and derivative investments.  A successful candidate must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a solid understanding of accounting principles and 0-2 years accounting experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Process transaction activity for RMBS and derivatives.
    • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Prepare financial statements and other financial reports.
    • Prepare quarterly and annual audit and tax requests.
    • Document and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
    • Compile support documentation for monthly financial information and periodic SEC filings including annual 10-K and quarterly 10-Qs and assist with SEC filings as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree in Accounting.
    • 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
    • Microsoft excel skills and experience with accounting software packages.
    • Communication and interpersonal skills, high energy team player.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
