    Position Description:

    The Desktop Engineer and System Administrator is responsible for implementing and maintaining all aspects of our technology. This position is 70% user support and 30% system administration, and is responsible for the following support tasks: desktop and server troubleshooting, desktop and server hardware/software installation and upgrades, and audio video support.  This successful candidate will possess a commitment to delivering quality solutions that balance the time to market needs of the business, goal and service orientation possessing a high degree of professionalism, communication and presentation.

    Responsibilities

    • Install, configure, and setup hardware / software for end users.
    • Support audio video conferences for members of the firm.
    • Respond to emails, calls and walk-ups in a timely and professional manner to manage expectations.
    • Tracking help requests in a ticketing system.
    • Assist users over the phone or at their desk with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
    • Responding to critical issues in a timely fashion and be part of an on-call rotation.  Be reasonably reachable for escalation on critical issues outside of on-call rotation.
    • Able to work nights and weekends to assist with infrastructure upgrades, moving equipment (PCs Monitors), and all other IT Equipment as needed.
    • Provide support across several technology domains with a focus on core Window technologies (including AD, DFS, SQL, Exchange, etc).
    • Provide implementation and production support as required.

    Qualifications

     

    • Undergraduate degree.
    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience on an IT support desk in the financial industry required.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    • SAN technology such as Tegile, Pure, HP, NetApp, EMC (NFS/iSCSI)
