    Position Description:

    We are seeking an Accountant to join our team, directly supporting Two Harbors Investment Corp. and Granite Point Mortgage Trust Inc. In this position, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting assignments focused on commercial real estate loans and other debt-like investments.  A successful candidate must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a solid understanding of accounting principles and 1-2 years accounting experience, preferably in financial services and/or commercial mortgage loan accounting.




    • Process transaction activity for commercial real estate loan origination, including loan boarding, origination deferrals, remittances, and other activity related to loan portfolio.
    • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Prepare yield analyses for investments and related debt.
    • Prepare financial statement disclosures related to commercial real estate assets.
    • Prepare quarterly and annual audit and tax requests.
    • Document and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
    • Compile support documentation for monthly financial information and periodic SEC filings including annual 10-K and quarterly 10-Qs and assist with SEC filings as needed.


    • Undergraduate degree in Accounting.
    • 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
    • Financial services and loan accounting experience preferred.
    • Microsoft excel skills and experience with accounting software packages.
    • Communication and interpersonal skills, high energy team player.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
